Living with dementia
Living with any form of dementia is a challenge. However, with appropriate care and support, many people with dementia can enjoy a good quality of life.
Wendy Mitchell is a Sunday Times best-selling dementia author and dementia advocate. Wendy spoke to Sir Martyn Lewis about her experience of living with dementia in November 2018, at BRACE's Together 4 Dementia conference. You can find some of her words of wisdom and her approach to living well with dementia in this short video.
Because BRACE is solely a research charity, sadly we do not have the resources or expertise to help provide or advise on care in dementia.
If you have recently received a dementia diagnosis, your doctor should be able to provide you with information about support. You can also contact the local branch of the Alzheimer’s Society or the nearest Dementia Action Alliance.
BRACE offers a number of free public information events across the South West of England, in partnership with different organisations. These events offer expert advice on anything from care homes, reducing your risk of dementia, Power of Attorney and more.
