Terms & Conditions
This website (accessed at www.alzheimers-brace.org), to which these terms of use apply, is owned and operated by BRACE.
Please read these terms of use carefully, together with the BRACE privacy policy. By accessing and using the website you are agreeing to be bound by these terms of use. If you do not accept these terms of use then you must not continue to use the website.
BRACE may alter these terms of use at any time and we recommend that you review these terms of use regularly to ensure that you are happy to accept any modifications. We will notify you here if any changes have been made. These are the current terms of use and are effective from 2024.
Access to the website and to all the content and features available within it may be modified, suspended, withdrawn or discontinued at any time and without any prior notice or explanation.
All enquiries and communications regarding the use of this website should be addressed to [email protected]
Use of this website is subject to the following terms:
Refunds Policy - Event Purchases
Where someone has purchased a place at an event organised by BRACE, we offer a full refund if the event is cancelled by BRACE and usually (if stated on the booking page) in the case of cancellation by the customer at least one month in advance of the event. Example: BRACE Conference.
If a supporter has paid a third party to attend their event in order to raise funds for BRACE, we are unable to offer a refund. In these circumstances, we have not received the admission/registration fee and the contract is between the customer and the third-party organisation. Example: challenge events such as the Bath Half Marathon.
Refund Policy - Donations
Charities are expected to refuse to refund donations other than in exceptional circumstances.
If someone has sponsored a participant in a challenge event, and that event is subsequently cancelled, the circumstances do not warrant a refund. The donor has donated in good faith to the charity because of the fundraiser’s intention to participate in the event.
Refunds will be given at the discretion of management and may need to be referred to the charity commission.
Refund Policy - Online Shop
The services provided by our carrier are outside our control. While we cannot guarantee delivery dates or times, UK delivery is normally no more than 1-2 working days after despatch. In the event of a delayed delivery, we regret we are unable to offer compensation. Should you not receive your goods within 8 working days, a refund or replacement will be offered.
We package our products extremely carefully - in the unlikely event that they are damaged in transit or faulty, you can notify us via telephone or email. You must then return the goods unused and in their original condition within the next 5 working days.
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may cancel your order within 7 days of receipt of the goods and request a full refund or replacement. However, as per standard industry practice, we cannot accept returns of customised items or special orders (that is, items that are marked as being ones we never hold in stock and have to place special orders for). Also return transport is a customer’s expense.
You must notify us within 7 days of receiving your goods via telephone or email if you wish to make a return. You must then return the goods unused and in their original condition within the next 5 working days. It is your responsibility to insure the goods with the carrier you use to return them as we are unable to process a refund until we receive the returned goods, and we cannot accept any liability for goods we do not receive.
We will either replace or process a refund upon receipt of the goods within 7 working days, according to your requirements. We regret we cannot control how long it takes your card issuer to credit your account. If the goods you received were substitute goods, damaged in any way or are of unsatisfactory quality, we will also compensate you for the cost of return postage. If the package or goods are damaged, please report this to our carrier upon delivery or as soon as possible thereafter.
Online Shop - Payment
Our online payments are handled by Go Cardless, Stripe and PayPal.
